OPIS: Will Burton nie jest zbyt popularnym nastolatkiem. Gdy jego matka dostaje nową pracę w New Jersey, chłopak cieszy się, że będzie mógł zmienić środowisko. W nowej szkole zauważa, że uczniowie żyją muzycznym wydarzeniem Bandslam - konkursem zespołów, którego zwycięzca będzie mógł nagrać płytę. Chłopak wkrótce zostaje w to wciągnięty mając zostać menadżerem jednej z kapel.
